          Johnny Humphries's Biography

          American pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for the Cleveland Indians (1938-1940), Chicago White Sox (1941-1945) and Philadelphia Phillies (1946). When Humphries joined the Indians in 1938, he was thought to have the best fastball in the American League. He died on 24 June 1965, aged 50, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
