          John Olerud's Biography

          American baseball player, a left-handed first baseman who played with the Toronto Blue Jays, New York Mets, Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, and Boston Red Sox between 1989 and 2005.
          He had a brain aneurysm operation when in college. Olerud, at 6 ft. 5 in. tall, 220 lbs., was originally signed by the Toronto Blue Jays on 6/05/1989 after being selected in the third round of the free-agent draft. He played with the team for seven years before being traded to the Mets on 12/20/1996.
          An excellent player, Olerud was sent to the All Star Game in 1993. That same year, he helped lead his team to a World Series victory. The Blue Jays also went to, and won, the World Series in 1992.
