          John Joubert's Biography

          American homicide, a serial killer of young people in 1982 and 1983; arrested on 1/11/1984, Offutt AFB, NE.
          Growing up in Portland, Maine, John was overtly hostile from the time he was 16, when he began his vicious attacks. In October 1979, he threatened a girl, a classmate, after school. On 12/11/1979, 4:05 PM, he stabbed Sarah Cantry from his bicycle and then rode away. On 1/24/1980, at 6:35 PM, he stabbed Vicky Goff. On 3/24/1980, he slashed the throat of Michael Witham. With all of these attacks, the victims survived and John was not identified and arrested.
          On 8/22/1982, 8:45 PM, he stabbed and killed Ricky Stetson.
          On 9/18/1983, 6:30 PM, he stabbed and killed Danny Joe Everle in Bellevue, NE. (All the former attacks were in Portland, after he moved to Oregon and prior to locating in Nebraska)
          On 12/02/1983, he stabbed and killed Chris Walden, Omaha, NE.
          On 1/11/1984, 8:15 AM, he threatened Barbara Weaver in her home, Bellevue, NE; she survived.
          On 1/11/1984, John was arrested at Offutt AFB, NE.
          He pleaded guilty to murder on 7/3/1984, Omaha, and was sentenced to death 10/09/1984. He was found guilty of the Ricky Stetson murder on 10/15/1984.
          John Joubert was executed 7/17/1996, after 11 years on death row.
