          John Hatland's Biography

          Norwegian resistance member during WW II. On 4 May 1944 he took part in the ‘Kirkeveien 90 Campaign,’ the goal of which was to destroy the archive of major Kielland which was located in his private apartment. They were discovered and Hatland, Stranger-Thorsen, and Lars-Emil Erichsen were arrested.
          In the the four volume work “Våre Falne [Our Fallen] 1939-1945,” commissioned by the Norwegian government in 1945 to commemorate those who had perished during the war, Hatland’s entry is in Volume 2, p. 237.
          Hatland was executed by shooting at Trandum, Norway, on 26 May 1944 at the age of 20.
