          Jérôme Tharaud's Biography

          French writer.
          Jerome and his brother Jean were prolific writers, noted for the extent and diversity of their literary production spanning 50 years of collaboration.
          In 1906 they won the Prix Goncourt for the novel “Dingley, l’illustre écrivain”.
          Precise observers, the brothers Tharaud were among the first and greatest of French reporters, recording their travels in various works They also were concerned with the dynamics of current political events, particularly those of Jewish history. The brothers Tharaud were also the authors of numerous novels and reminiscences.
          In December 1938 Jerome Tharaud is elected to the French Academy.
          He died 28 January 1953, Varengeville-sur-Mer.
