          English-born French prince, a son of Elizabeth Patterson and Jérôme Bonaparte, brother of Napoleon I. He was raised in the United States by his wealthy American mother. He married Susan May Williams, and they had two sons: Jerome Napoleon Bonaparte II and Charles Joseph Bonaparte. The American line of the Bonaparte family thus descends from Jérôme Napoleon Bonaparte I who died in Baltimore, Maryland on 17 June 1870.
