          Jean Krämer's Biography

          German architect who was able to realize numerous buildings in and around Berlin, many of which are now listed as historical monuments. He preferred elements of Expressionism with a focus on New Objectivity. Krämer became particularly well-known for his conversion and new construction works of various Berlin tram depots in the 1920s, in the literature he is therefore often referred to as “Hausarchitekt der Berliner Straßenbahn” (“architect of the Berlin tram”).
          He died on 17 January 1943 in Berlin, aged 56.
