          Jean Claude Poulet-Dachary's Biography

          French murder victim.
          On 29 August 1995, Jean-Claude Poulet-Dachary, the chief of staff of the mayor of Toulon, was found dead on the staircase of his home. The police learned that the victim frequented gay bars and four years later, found a suspect, 37-year-old Jean-Marc Petroff, who maintained an ambiguous relationship with the victim. Petroff admitted pushing Poulet-Dachary down the stairs, before retracting his statement. In December 2005, he was acquitted. The prosecution appealed and Petroff was retried in November 2006 and sentenced to fifteen years in prison.
