Dutch engineer, educator and astrologer. When he was 14, the Japanese occupied Indonesia and his family were interred in prison camps. Jan was first put in the women’s camp in June in Ambarawa August 1942 and moved to the men’s camp where he dad was in September 1944. It was a time of terrible misery until the liberation in August 1945, when the family was reunited.
In March 1946 they moved to northern Holland where he completed school in 1949.
Completing his civil engineering degree, Jan served in the Royal Netherlands Navy reserves 1953-55. He married in July 1957 and his son Rink was born 6/17/1958. Daughter Elisabeth was born 10/22/1959 and son Rijk on 8/07/1962. Daughter Jacoba was born 3/22/1966.
Jan worked in building and maintenance on canals and bridges from 1960-1965. From 1965-1987, he lectured at the Secondary Tech school in Groningen.
Jan’s marriage dissolved with a divorce on 11/01/1975. He met a widow, Johanna and they began living together in August 1987.
Astrology caught Jan’s interest in 1973 at a time when his marriage was breaking down. He had no trust in psychological therapy and astrology gave him answers he found sound.
