          Infanta of Spain Maria's Biography

          Infanta of Spain, a daughter of Queen Isabella II of Spain, who married her first cousin Prince Ludwig Ferdinand of Bavaria. She lived for the rest of her life in Germany, dedicating her time to her family, charity work and writing poetry. She wrote a book of memoirs: Through Four Revolutions: 1862-1933. In 1914, in response to the credits she had contracted in Munich creating the “Spanish Pedagogium” she was awarded the Grand Cross of the Civil Order of Alfonso XII. The Infanta María de la Paz and Ludwig Ferdinand of Bavaria had three children. She died on 4 December 1946, aged 84, in Nymphenburg Palace, Munich, Bavaria, Allied-occupied Germany
