          Hugh O’Brian's Biography

          American actor, known for his starring roles in the 1955-1961 ABC western television series, The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp and the 1972-1973 NBC action television series Search. O’Brian had a small role in John Wayne’s last film, The Shootist.
          He was highly regarded for creating the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Foundation, a non-profit youth leadership development program for high school scholars which has sponsored over 400,000 students since he founded the program in 1958 following an extended visit with theologian and physician Albert Schweitzer.
          On 25 June 2006, O’Brian married for the first time at age 81 to Virginia Barber (born ca. 1952). O’Brian had one son, Hugh Donald Krampe, by a relationship with photographer Adina Etkes.
          O’Brian died at his home in Beverly Hills, California, on 5 September 2016 at age 91. For his contribution to the television industry, Hugh O’Brian has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6613½ Hollywood Blvd.
