          Hoot Gibson's Biography

          American power forward who played for several teams in the National Basketball League (NBL) and National Basketball Association (NBA). These teams included Tri-Cities Blackhawks (1948–1949), Denver Nuggets (1948–1949), Boston Celtics (1949), Waterloo Hawks (1949–1950) and Denver Refiners (1950–1951).
          Gibson was killed on 1 February 1958 in a car accident in his hometown of Des Moines, Iowa when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving and hit a tree. He was survived by his wife, Vonnie. He was 36.
