French ski instructor and mountain guide who became a national alpine ski coach.
He coached the French alpine ski team between 1959 and 1968. In that 10 year period the team earned 17 medals (8 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze) at the Olympic Games. The pinnacle was reached in 1966 at the world championships played in Portillo Chile: France won 16 medals out of 24 brought into play, including 7 of 8 gold. He retired after the triumph of the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble.
