French surgeon credited with the parotidectomy for a mixed tumour with dissection of the facial nerve and the suction drainage that bears his name (“Redon incision”).
A graduate of the Gambetta high school in Cahors, Henri Redon studied medicine in Toulouse and Paris, where he had a brilliant career as a surgeon. On 12 November 1957, Professor Henri Redon was appointed holder of the chair of surgical clinical cancer on the Faculty of Medicine in Paris. Henri Redon was a member of the National Academy of Medicine and the National Academy of Surgery.
He died on 1 June 1974.
