          Heinrich Seufferheld's Biography

          German draftsman, painter and etcher, whose landscapes and cityscapes, which show his hometown Weinsberg, his long summer residence on the Swabian Alb in Neidlingen, and his later place of residence of Tübingen, are still well known today. He repeatedly addressed the subject of death, in self-portraits, pictures of skulls and finally in his 1924 etching series Der Tod Lied.
          From 1909 until his retirement in 1933, Heinrich Seufferheld was a university drawing teacher, and from 1918 also an associate professor at the University of Tübingen. He died on 20 February 1940 in Tübingen at age 74.
