          Heinrich Schweitzer's Biography

          German architect who lived and worked in Berlin. Schweitzer’s buildings influenced the growth of the Berlin suburbs at that time. Many of his buildings are now heritage listed. The buildings constructed according to plans by Schweitzer cannot be assigned a precise style, but adapted to the zeitgeist of neo-renaissance, neo-baroque or the beginning of Expressionism and represent predominantly a mix of styles.
          On 15 November 1907, his son Jürgen was born in Freiburg im Breisgau. He followed in his father’s footsteps and founded the group of architects, Schweitzer und Partner. Heinrich Schweitzer died in 1953 in Berlin.
