          Gustav Fechner's Biography

          German philosopher, psychologist, naturalist and physicist. He studied the relationship between the strength of stimulus and the intensity of sensation, therefore discovering and developing “psycho-physics.”
          Fechner was the brother of painter Eduard Clemens Fechner and of Clementine Wieck Fechner, who was the stepmother of Clara Wieck when Clementine became her father Friedrich Wieck’s second wife.
          Fechner died on 18 November 1887 in Leipzig.
