          Georges Monneret's Biography

          French motorcycle rider, nicknamed ‘Jojo la Moto,’ who had 499 wins and 183 world records.
          Some of his exploits are recounted in the book “Vive la moto.”
          Georges Monneret was the father of Philippe Monneret (winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1991 with teammates Bruno Bonhuil and Rachel Nicotte) and twins, Jean Monneret and Pierre Monneret (first French winner in the premier class of 500 cm3 Grand Prix of France in Reims in 1954).
          He died on 5 April 1983.
