American psychic, a law enforcement detective employed by the Major Crimes Unit for the Passaic County Prosecutor in New Jersey. He was the subject of Mike Kaplan’s book “Buried Mistakes,” 1992.
Dark complexioned and square faced with a small mustache, Det. Brejack is a 6′ 4″, 250 lbs. broad-shouldered mountain of a man whose appearance usually is described as a “nice guy, easy-going.” In truth, he has been a legend since 1979 in the precinct for being in the center of action, quick and decisive. He has received many citations for outstanding performance both in uniform and plain-clothes assignments.
Moreover, his sixth sense is acknowledged to be so keen that he is openly referred to as the “homicide psychic.” His uncanny ability to zero in to evidence, often some obscure detail, has helped him to convict more than 75 killers. He has been known to open a file and pinpoint the killer before the investigation has even begun. He once faced a crowd of 60 people at a crime scene and pointed at a man who turned out to be the killer, and in another case, he directed the search of a missing child to a wooded area and walked directly to the hidden body.
“I don’t call myself psychic,” Brejack says, “But I just get these unexplainable feelings and ideas – and follow up on them.”
