          Franz Wilhelm Sonreck's Biography

German church organ builder who learned his trade from Heinrich Anton Weitz (1798–1871) in Düsseldorf. He then went on years of travelling, most of which took him through Germany and the Netherlands.
Back in his hometown, he founded a workshop there and also trained some students, including Franz Eggert and Franz Josef Schorn.
In 1850 his former employer, Engelbert Maaß, brought him to Cologne and made him his successor. There he continued the workshop in the style of Maaß and thus also worked in the tradition of Balthasar König.
