French doctor whose work Ptose’s visceral (1885) is considered to be of fundamental importance to our knowledge of abnormal states of the abdomen (“Glénard’s disease”, visceroptosis). His studies on liver disease are also very important. In this regard, it should be noted that Glénard never had any hospital at his disposal and thus made his important findings exclusively in outpatient patients.
He died on 10 May 1920 in Paris, aged 71.
