          Filippo Eredia's Biography

          Italian physicist and meteorologist, an expert weather forecaster, who joined the central meteorological office in Rome in 1905, where he remained until 1926, reaching the position of chief geophysicist. In 1913 he taught meteorology at the University of Rome.
          He worked on medical, thermodynamic and anemone atmospheric meteorology, and engaged in the drafting of many treatises and dissertations, attended scientific conferences and collaborated with many periodicals.
          From 1934 to 1937 he taught Meteorology and Oceanography in Naples, in 1938 he moved to the University of Rome. Meanwhile, he founded the magazine Meteorologia Aeronautica.
          He became part of the most important geophysical and meteorological international organizations and was a teacher at the Aeronautical Academy and at the Air Force School.
          He died on 13 February 1948, aged 71, in Rome.
