          Félix Huguenet's Biography

French stage actor and singer, who appeared first in the provinces and abroad, then in Paris, where, after difficult beginnings, he was engaged at the Théâtre des Variétés (1886), the Palais Royal (1888), the Théâtre des Bouffes-Parisiens, where he sang in operettas, and at Menus-Plaisirs (1892).
He then went on to the Théâtre du Vaudeville and the Théâtre du Gymnase Marie Bell, where he created remarkable roles (la Carrière, Georgette Lemeunier, la Robe Rouge, le Secret de Polichinelle, etc.) After playing the Renaissance in 1906, he entered the Comédie-Française (1908), but remained there only two years.
Returning to the boulevard theatres, he finished his brilliant career at the Vaudeville with La Tendresse (1921) and La Chair humaine (1922). Huguenet was noted for the sincerity and finesse of his acting. He founded the Union des artistes in 1917. In 1898, he married Mme. Simon-Girard.
He died on 18 November 1926 in Antibes.
