          Faye Dancer's Biography

          American center fielder who played from 1944 through 1950 for three teams of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Listed at 5 ft 6 in (1.68 m), 145 lb (66 kg), she batted and threw right-handed.
          She was diagnosed with breast cancer. Within a month of diagnosis, she underwent surgery to remove her left breast along with 18 lymph nodes. Dancer died, aged 77, on 22 May 2002 after undergoing cancer surgery at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. This same year she was elected to the National Women’s Baseball Hall of Fame.
