          Erik Kramer's Biography

          American football player, a quarterback for the San Diego Chargers. He played for the Chicago Bears from 1994-98.
          After graduating from Burroughs High School, the 6’1″ 204 lb. Kramer attended Pierce Junior College in California, where he led his team to a berth in the 1984 Potato Bowl. While at North Carolina State, he broke eight school records and was named the 1986 ACC Player of the Year. In 1988, he played a partial season with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League, and although not drafted by an NFL team, he played for the Detroit Lions prior to being picked up by the Bears. His teammates from the Lions nicknamed him “Brass.”
          Kramer is an active participant in various charity events, helping raise money for organizations like Children’s Cancer Research.
          While training for the 1989 season, he injured his knee. In 1996, he suffered a bizarre neck injury. After playing a full game on 9/22/1996, he woke three days later with two herniated cervical discs that kept him sidelined the entire season.
