German painter, graphic designer and restorer on behalf of the “Institute for the Preservation of Historic Monuments in Schwerin”. His works include wall and ceiling paintings, tile and stained glass designs for public buildings, and book illustrations.
On 1 October 1923 Erich Kliefert married the painter Mathilde Kliefert-Gießen (1887-1978). With her he had two children, Brigitte Köhler-Kliefert (1924-2001) and Martin Kliefert (1928-2016), both born in Stralsund.
He died on 30 January 1994 in Stralsund, aged 100.
