Mexican writer and broadcaster who distinguished herself by promoting the defense of the dignity of old age. She studied at the Institute of Women and Culture in Higher Normal School of Mexico City. She qualified as a teacher in Spanish Language and Literature. Later, she entered the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the National Autonomous University of Mexico where she obtained a doctorate in philosophy, besides studying degrees in psychology and pedagogy. She traveled to Paris for further courses in philosophy at the Sorbonne and history at the Ecole du Louvre. She devoted himself to teaching since 1947, lecturing at the National School of Teachers, at the Ecole Normale Superieure, in the Cloister of Sor Juana and other institutions. She was adviser to the Mexican Society of Philosophy, Faculty of Philosophy of the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, honorary president of the Pan American Philosophical Ateneo University and member of the International Academy of Philosophy of Art in Switzerland. In 1973 she founded and chaired the Association Dignity Aging (DIVE). She made a work for old age, instilling awareness about the society through the XEW radio. In response, the Mexican government adopted a policy of social order and created in 1979 the National Institute of Aging (INSEN), which later changed its name to National Institute of Older Persons.
She died on 30 July 1989.
