          Émile Tillot's Biography

          French physician, who was interested in deafness, having himself become deaf intermittently early and totally deaf at the end of his life. A former intern of the Paris hospitals, and corresponding member of the Academy of Medicine, after being doctor-inspector of the Waters of St-Chritau, he returned to his hometown after 71 years. He wrote the book De l’Action des eaux ferro-cuivreuses de Saint-Christau (Basses-Pyrénées) dans quelques affections de la peau et des yeux (The action of ferro-copper waters of Saint-Christau (Basses-Pyrénées) in some affections of the skin and eyes). He died in Rouen on 18 October 1923, aged 94.
