          Émile-Leon Poincaré's Biography

          French physician from a noted family, who was professor of medicine at the University of Nancy. On 31 May 1853 he married Marie Pierrette Eugénie Launois. They had two children. Their son Henri Poincaré became a famous mathematician, theoretical physicist, engineer, and philosopher of science. Émile-Léon Poincaré died in Nancy on 15 September 1892, aged 64.
