          Ellsworth Kelly's Biography

          American painter, sculptor and artist. He served in the Army Engineers Corp in World War II, then studied art in Paris and Boston. He starting with abstract collages in 1950 and presented his first one-man show at the Galerie Arnaud in 1951. In 1954, he returned to the United States, producing a curvilinear, bio-morphic composition in his first American one-man show two years later. He exhibited regularly in New York after 1965 with representation at many major museums.
          Kelly died on 27 December 2015, aged 92.
