          Eli Roth's Biography

American film director; he earned public attention for his prize winning horror movie “Cabin Fever” which he sold for $2 million, triple its production budget. The film, praised by such respected and successful directors as Peter Jackson, Quentin Tarantino and David Lynch, took 10 years to make, according to Roth. Its showing at the Toronto Film Festival in September 2002 started a seven-studio bidding war. The film was released to major cinemas on September 12, 2003. The Boston Globe describes him as “freewheelingly funny and profane, and angry only when the subject turns to those who slam horror movies.” Roth landed a starring role, along with Brad Pitt, in Tarantino’s 2009 movie “Inglourious Basterds” [sic].
