          Elbert S. McCuskey's Biography

          American World War II U.S. Navy fighter ace who participated in the Battle of the Coral Sea and the Battle of Midway, for which he was awarded two Navy Crosses, one for each battle. By the end of the war, he was credited with 13½ aerial victories.
          McCuskey married twice and had five children. He died of a heart attack on 15 June 1997 at age 82 in Clearwater, Florida.
