          Eddie Kidd's Biography

British motorcycle stunt rider. One of three children, he was inspired at age 12 by the daredevil antics of Evel Knieval. At age 18, he established a record for the youngest ever to jump over 190 feet, over 14 schoolbuses. In the movie “Ridin’ High,” he plays the main character and performs the breath-taking stunt of jumping 30 feet over a railroad bridge fragment that had spanned a river several feet below while facing strong headwinds. In 1979 he crossed an 80 foot gap over a 50 foot drop above a viaduct .
He became one of the most sought-after daredevils on motorcycle for the film and advertising industries. In 1993 he beat out Evel Knieval’s son Robbie for the stunt world championship. That same year he made a jump at the Great Wall of China. In 1996 he had a terrible accident at a Hells’ Angels rally in Warwickshire. In an attempt to jump across a drag strip, he crashed into an incline and suffered severe head injuries. He has been wheelchair bound since then, with impaired speech and coordination difficulties.
