Earl of Ogle Henry Cavendish's Biography
English peer. The only surviving son and heir of Henry Cavendish, 2nd Duke of Newcastle, he died before his father at the age of 17; the Dukedom became extinct on his father’s death, but was revived for Henry’s brother-in-law: John Holles, Duke of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Henry, Earl of Ogle, is remembered mainly for his short-lived marriage to Lady Elizabeth Percy, daughter of the last Earl of Northumberland and the greatest heiress of her time; she was only fourteen when they married and was widowed a year later when Henry died on 1 November 1680.
