          E. W. Fiedler's Biography

          German cinematographer who worked on three dozen films from 1934 to 1960, as well as directing three films. As a cameraman he worked with Fritz Arno Wagner, Bruno Mondi, Karl Valentin, Liesl Karlstadt, Erich Engels, and Wolfgang Schleif.
          In 1951 he received the National Prize of the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) (German: Nationalpreis der DDR). E. W. Fiedler died in Berlin on 5 April 1960 at age 54. His name is also styled as Ernst Wilhelm Fiedler, Ernst W. Fiedler and E. Wilhelm Fiedler.
