          Conjoined Twins: Brown's Biography

American congenitally united babies, the first children of a 21 year-old mother, Ermalee Brown, and her 26 year-old husband, Harding “Pat” Brown. The twins were taken to full term, born by C-Section and weighed 12 lbs 4oz at birth. Joined at the front of the pelvis and facing each other, they were completely normal otherwise. Separation of the twins was impossible as too large an area joined together involved vital organs.
On 26 August 1947 at 10:30 AM MST the first twin died, the other died six hours and 15 minutes later, at 4:45 PM. The tiny heart of the last twin kept going at seven beats per minute until death.
