Clayton Williams's Human Design Chart
6/2 Emotional Manifesting Generator**Clayton Williams: A Multifaceted Legacy in Engineering, Geology, and Community Leadership**
Clayton Williams (April 15, 1895 – September 9, 1983) was an American engineer, geologist, oilman, World War I military officer, rancher, county commissioner, civic leader, historian, and philanthropist. Born in Fort Stockton, Texas, Williams exemplified the qualities of a Manifesting Generator in Human Design, characterized by his ability to respond to opportunities and take action with emotional clarity. His life was marked by a dynamic interplay of creativity and practicality, which he channeled into various fields, including engineering and community service.
From 1919 to 1920, Williams began his career as an engineer for the Oil Belt Power Company in Texas. He spent four years as a surveyor and engineer for the Texas and New Mexico state highway departments before becoming the chief engineer for the Texon Oil and Land Company in 1924. As one of the earliest licensed geologists in Texas, Williams played a pivotal role in the discovery of the Settles and Harding oilfields in Howard County near Big Spring, as well as the first discovery well in the Ellenburger field. His emotional authority allowed him to navigate complex decisions, leading to Texon’s drilling of the University 1-B well in 1926, which was the deepest well in the United States at that time.
In 1927, he established a water and ice works plant in Crane, Texas, which he operated until 1935, after resigning from Texon. His commitment to community affairs was evident during his eighteen years as an elected Pecos County Commissioner, beginning in 1936. Williams also distinguished himself as a historian of West Texas, authoring several scholarly articles and five books, including “Never Again” (1969), “Animal Tales of the West” (1974), and “Texas’ Last Frontier: Fort Stockton and the Trans-Pecos, 1861-1895” (1982).
Williams’ Human Design profile as a 6/2 highlights his role as a natural leader and a wise observer, which he embodied throughout his life. His Incarnation Cross, the Left Angle Cross of Limitation, signifies a journey of overcoming challenges and limitations, a theme that resonated in his work and contributions to society. His channels—1-8, 12-22, 35-36, 27-50, and 28-38—further illustrate his unique capacity for creativity, emotional depth, and resilience.
On September 10, 1928, Williams married Chicora Lee Graham, and together they had one son. In 1983, he faced a terminal cancer diagnosis, but his legacy as a pioneer in engineering, geology, and community service endures. Clayton Williams passed away on September 9, 1983, leaving behind a rich tapestry of contributions that continue to inspire future generations.
