          Charlie Daniels's Biography

          American singer, songwriter, guitarist and fiddler, who formed the “Charlie Daniels Band” in 1973. He began his career as a sessions player with top names such as Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Ringo Starr and others before recording his own material in the early ’70s. He was best known for his number-one country hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” (1979). Daniels was active as a singer and musician since the 1950s. He was inducted into the Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame in 2002, the Grand Ole Opry in 2008, the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2009, and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016. Daniels died on 6 July 2020 of a hemorrhagic stroke at the age of 83 at Summit Medical Center in Nashville.
