          Charles Porcher's Biography

          French veterinarian, professor and scientific writer in Lyon who collaborated with Henri de Rothschild (1872-1947) to expose the fraudulent industry in milk products operating in France toward the end of the First World War. He was Professor of Chemistry and Physics at l’Ecole vétérinaire de Lyon (1897-1925), Director of l’Ecole Vétérinaire (1925-1931), and the founder and Director of the journal Le lait in 1921. Porcher died in Paris on 24 December 1933, aged 61. He is the subject of the 1934 biography, Le professeur Charles Porcher (1872-1933) by Léon-Gabriel Toraude.
