Charles Dubost's Biography
French surgeon who, in 1951, became the first in the world to successfully perform an abdominal aortic aneurysm. In 1955, he innovated in cardiac surgery, using an artificial heart-lung for open-heart surgery. In 1968, he successfully performed a cardiac transplant twice, for the first time in Europe.
Dubost retired in 1982. He died in Paris on 11 January 1991, aged 76.
