          Carmen Ollé's Biography

          Peruvian poet, novelist and critic, noted as the best known representative of women’s poetry in Peru, along with Blanca Varela. Always a passionate advocate of women’s rights, she is an important female voice of the Generación del 70 (1970s Generation). She was also a member of the avant-garde Movimiento Hora Zero.
          She was a professor of Literature at the Enrique Guzmán y Valle La Cantuta National University of Education (1981-1993), director of the Documentation Center on Women (1993-2000), director of the Pen Club of Peru and president of the Writers Network Latin American (RELAT).
          Ollé was married to the poet Enrique Verástegui (1950-2018). She has lived long periods in France, Germany, Spain and the USA.
