          Carlo Scognamiglio's Biography

          Italian educator and politician, elected to Parliament as a member of the Liberal Party, April 1992. After receiving a degree in economics in 1973 from the Bocconi University of Milan, Carlo lectured in company finance, industrial economics, political economics and was a former consultant to the Ministers of Budget, Industry and State Enterprise. As an economist he has been appointed as President of the Group of European Affairs, Minister of the Treasury’s commission, member of the Finance and Treasury Commission and is President of the Affairs Committee in the Senate.
          Carlo is also a current lecturer for various universities, a university docent and has published over 11 monographic books. He is the recipient of the Economic Award from the Academy of France in 1988 and is a member of the management board of the Italian Business Economics Society.
          He enjoys sailing during his recreation time and is a former weightlifter champion of the one-ton class and former snipe champion in 1961. A private person, he has been noted for three alliances including a marriage to Delfina Rattazzo
