          Bruno Werntgen's Biography

          German aviator and flight instructor, the son of aviation pioneer Antonia (Tony) Werntgen (1875-1954). He was regarded as the youngest pilot in the world when he was aged 16. Already working as a flight instructor, he acquired his 40th German pilot’s license on 13 December 1910 in Berlin-Johannisthal. He was often the main attraction at air shows in the Rhineland. When testing a new design on 25 February 1913 he was killed on the Hangelarer Heath.
