          Bradford Dillman's Biography

          American actor on Broadway from 1953; winning a Tony in 1956 for “Long Day’s Journey Into Night.” His film “Compulsion,” 1959 won the Cannes Film Festival Award. In TV, he won an Emmy in 1974.
          Sensitive, intelligent, his early roles were youthful, moving into more varied characterizations from hero to villain.
          With a solid knowledge of American football, Dillman’s first book, published in 1994, is “Inside the New York Giants.” He followed that with an autobiography, “Are You Anybody?” and in 1998, “Dropkick.”
          From 1956 to 1962, Dillman was married to Frieda Harding, and had two children (Jeffrey and Pamela) with her. Dillman met actress Suzy Parker while making “Circle of Deception,” 1960. They were married on 20 April 1963, and had three children, Dinah, Charles, and Christopher. (Fashion model Dorian Leigh was Parker’s sister.) The marriage lasted until Parker’s death on 3 May 2003.
          Before his own death in Santa Barbara, California on 16 January 2018, aged 87, from complications of pneumonia, Dillman lived for many years in Montecito, California, and helped raise money for medical research.
