Bjørg Vik's Biography
Norwegian novelist, short story writer, playwright, and journalist.
She worked as a journalist for Porsgrunn Dagblad from 1956 to 1960. She had her literary debut in 1963 with the short story collection “Søndag eftermiddag” (Sunday afternoon’).
In the 1960s and 70s her literary output showed a marked commitment to feminism. In 1973 she was co-founder of the feminist magazine Sirene. Vik has been translated to over 30 languages and three times she has been nominated to the Nordic Council’s Literature Prize.
Vik died on 7 January 2018 in Porsgrunn, Norway, aged 82.
