          Bill Guerin's Biography

          American hockey player for the NHL, 6′ 2″, 210 lbs. He played for the New Jersey Devils, Edmonton Oilers, Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars, St. Louis Blues, San Jose Sharks, New York Islanders, and Pittsburgh Penguins between 1989 and 2010.
          When he was age six, his parents built a homemade rink in the backyard and he was impassioned with hockey ever since. A two-time member of the U.S. Junior National Team, Guerin played for U.S. championship team in the1 996 World Cup of Hockey. He spent two years at Boston College and was fifth overall pick by New Jersey in 1989 NHL draft.
          A key figure in the Devils’ Stanley Cup title season in 1995, he was traded to the Bruins and finished with 40 goals and 45 assists, all career bests – the MVP of 2001 All-Star Game.
          Guerin won his second Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2009. He announced his retirement as an NHL player on 6 December 2010.
