          Betsy Westendorp-Osieck's Biography

          Dutch painter who belonged to the women artists group the Amsterdamse Joffers. Besides being a painter she was also a watercolourist, etcher, and draughtswoman.
          Westendorp painted many portraits. As an etcher she made a dozen illustrations in the “Oude Amsterdamsche tuinhuizen” published by Bernard Houthakker in 1923. She made trips to America, Belgium, Cambodia, Ceylon, Egypt, France (Paris) and Japan. Her travel sketches of her journey in 1931 through Asia were exhibited in both Amsterdam and The Hague.
          On 21 June 1917 she married the securities dealer Herman Karel Westendorp. Betsy Westendorp-Osieck died on 1 March 1968 at the age of 87 in her hometown of Amsterdam.
