          Bert Jones's Biography

          American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Baltimore Colts (1973-1981) and the Los Angeles Rams (1982). He was named the NFL Most Valuable Player (1976) and NFL Offensive Player of the Year (1976). Jones was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
          Jones played college football at Louisiana State University (LSU). He is the son of former NFL running back Dub Jones of the Cleveland Browns.
          A key quarterback in the history of the Baltimore Colts, his record included many instances of coming back and trying to work out injuries under battle conditions. He was sidelined for most of the 1978 season with a damaged right shoulder as he was hurt on both 26 August and 15 October 1978.
