Italian chemist who taught at the University of Pavia, conducting various studies on heterogeneous compounds. He discovered two Grignard reagents: magnesium pyrrolo (in 1909) and c-magnesium indole (in 1911). He also devoted himself to the preparation of drugs, including: Alfa Bertelli, Emopirrolo and Auritiolo. He died in Milan on 19 May 1941, aged 59.
