          Bernard Ullmann's Biography

          French journalist and reporter.
          He joined Agence France-Presse (AFP) in 1949. He was director of the Beijing (1959-1960), Moscow (1962-1966) and Washington (1974-1977) offices. From 1977 to 1987 he worked for the magazine L’Express. During his career, he covered many conflicts, including the Korean War and the liberation war of Bangladesh.
          Bernard Ullmann was a jury member of the Albert Londres Prize.
          He is the author, with Jean Huteau, of “Une histoire de l’Agence France-Presse” (A History of Agence France-Presse) published in 1990.
          He died on 31 December 2008.
